WHAT IT IS

 

A comradery-based competition that runs alongside the regular Jingle Jam Round Robin. During registration, players select to represent their pickleball club, home courts, or APPL team. At the end of the tournament, one Men’s, one Women’s, and one Mixed Doubles Home Court Paddle Battle Champion team will be awarded, earning a traveling trophy to display and yearlong bragging rights! Last year the winners were:

 

Men’s Doubles – Saddlebrooke Ranch

Women’s Doubles – Ace Pickleball Club

Mixed Doubles – Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club

 

WHAT IT’S NOT

 

A separate event with extra matches, extra fees, or mandatory participation. You and your partner will still play for gold, silver, and bronze awards in your age/skill bracket.

 

HOW IT WORKS

 

• A Home Court Team = minimum of 3 partner teams (6 players), maximum 5 partner teams (10 players).

• Teams can represent courts, member clubs, or APPL teams.

• Teams can be made up of different age and skill levels.

• Courts/member clubs/APPL teams can field one, two, or all three divisions: Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles.

• When you and your partner register for the Jingle Jam, select  your age/skill bracket as usual.

• To join the Paddle Battle, check the YES and select your court/club from the drop-down list (or write one in).

• Matches are played in a Round Robin format.

• During the round robin, each point you and your partner score adds to your Paddle Battle team’s cumulative total.

• The highest total score in each division = Champion + Traveling Trophy + Year-long bragging rights.

IMPORTANT 

• Only the first 5 Paddle Battle teams who sign up per court/member club/APPL team will compete. Addition teams will be wait listed. So register early and SAY YES!

• Members of the Paddle Battle teams will be notified in advance when team spots are filled.
